Based on the investigations of the indices of speed of growth,survival rate,quantity of occurrence and weight of pupa of Dryocosmus kuriphilus Yasumatus on 8 main varieties of Castanea henryi(Skan) Rehd. Et Wils on Jian′ou city,a quantitative index of varieties of Castanea henryi resistant to Dryocosmus kuriphilus obtained by factor analysis was suggested and applied to resistance evaluation on these 8 varieties. The formula of the index is R=-騧i=1Pi (nj=1b(ij)Xj)]. According to theresistance index the resistances of 8 main varieties against Dryocosmus kuriphilus was separated into 5 grades.
