眉县杨家村器铭历日的难题

A Puzzle of Dates in Yangjia Village's Bronze Ware Inscription

眉县杨家村新发现的西周青铜器窖藏,有两组鼎铭记宣王四十二、四十三年历日,但与现代推算的历表有不合之处。如认为铭文本身有误,或有关文献有误,都有困难。由同时的鄀公缄鼎可知,当时颁行的历日曾出现混乱,将来有更多的材料,应可详细了解。

In the newly unearthed cave collection of bronze wares from Yangjia Village, Meixian County, there are two groups of bronzes inscribed with dates of the 42nd and 43rd years of King Xuan, but they do not correspond with the calendar calculated by present researchers. It is difficult to decide whether the inscription itself is mistaken or whether relevant materials are erroneous. According to Ruo - gong - jian Ding (an ancient bronze utensil), the calendars at that time were confusing. More materials might be available to make it clear.
