The synthesis of isoamyl salicylate catalyzed by aryl sulfonic acid, amino sulfonic acid, cationic exchange resin, ferric solid super acid, sodium bisulfate monohydrate, solid super acid and heterpoly acid catalyst were reviewed. It was suggested that the experiment and selection of promising catalyst developed in the recent years should be enhanced.
