摘要
《英语课程标准》要求在中小学英语教材编写中注意使教学内容有助于学生开阔文化视野、尊重文化差异,使他们不断提高跨文化意识,逐步增强跨文化交际能力。这一要求不仅是针对中外文化差异的,而且还应涉及国内不同民族文化之间的差异和同一主流文化中各亚文化之间的差异。本文对中小学英语教材编写中存在的忽视尊重文化差异的现象,及其产生的负面影响进行了分析。
The National English Curriculum Standards require that teaching materials meet the needs of enabling students to broaden their cultural vision and to respect cultural differences in writing English textbooks for primary and middle schools. The requirements are expected to raise their cross-cultural awareness continuously and to strengthen their cross-cultural communicative competence gradually. This approach involves not only the cultural differences between Chinese and foreign cultures but also those between different nationalities in China and those between different subcultures within the mainstream Chinese culture. This paper explores the occurrences of neglecting cultural differences in English textbook writing for primary and middle schools and analyzes the negative effects that may result from such neglects.
