The effect and its mechanism of coal dust in green moulding sand was introduced. The possibility of canceling coal dust in green sand was analyzed. It was verified with practical case that, it' s possible, under the conditions of manual moulding, to cancel the coal dust from moulding sand with the only necessity to spray a thin layer of some surface -strengthening agent onto the surface of sand mould.
