《战国策·齐策三》所载《楚王死》一文,既有违史实,又不合事理,且写法独特,故历来被视为奇文。对其由来和性质的探究,学者们众说纷纭,莫衷一是。但若参照《鬼谷子》所论纵横术细加剖析,则不难发现,此文借事生说,因事设辞,其实是一篇现身说法的纵横术讲义。

'Death of King of Chu Kingdom' in 'Zhan Guo Ce' is always considered as a remarkable work because it is against fact, unreasonable and distinctive in writing. Scholars have different opinions to questions about its origin and character. However, if we analyse it carefully by consulting the political strategies in 'Gui Gu Zi', we will find that though appearing to be a story it is actually also a lecture of political strategies with author's own experience.
