Nowadays, the development of the real-time control system and management information system is often based on Local Area Networks (LANs). It is necessary to implement interconnection among heterogeneous LANs so as to integrate control with management. This paper describes a way to interconnect the heterogeneous LANs. Some specific technical problems and their solutions are analyzed in detail. The interconnection system provides the internetworks with unconnected datagram service, with its software based on NETBIOS (Network Basic Input/Output Systems) interface. The entire system works quite satisfactorily and with high reliability, good compatibility as well as transferrability.
