Political Legitimacy and the “Three Represents”

合法性对于保持一种政治统治的稳定,保证社会的秩序化具有极其重要的作用。对于一种政治统治而言,民众对其是否具有认同感是考察它是否具有合法性的关键。在党内存在一些腐败现象,意识形态的整合功能面临极大挑战的情况下,中国共产党人能否忠实不渝地实践“三个代表”,实现好、维护好、发展好最广大人民的根本利益,是其能否取信于民,能否赢得人民支持,最终巩固其执政合法性的关键。

Legitimacy plays an important role in keeping the stability of the reign and in keeping the order of the whole society. Whether it can be identified by the people is a reigns most important symbol of legitimacy. At present, there is serious corruption in our Party, the construction of ideology is facing many challenges. Whether Communist Party of China can practice Three Represents faithfully, whether it can realize and maintain and develop the broad masses of the peoples interest is the key to be trusted and held by people and to solidify the legitimacy of reign.
