影响大学新生英语口语能力因素的实证分析 被引量:13

A Positive Analysis of the Factors That Affect College Students’ Oral English Proficiency

摘要 本文采用定量分析的方法,对影响大学生英语口语提高的16个因素进行了统计数据、主成分分析及聚类分析.结果表明,影响大学生英语口语提高的16个因素中关键的因素有两个:一是缺乏操练和运用英语的口语环境;另一个是学生自己课外操练不够.这两个因素基本上指出了大学生英语口语能力薄弱的问题所在.这项研究不仅有助于大学英语教师在口语教学中抓住主要矛盾,还为大学英语教学的改革与发展找到突破口. By using the research methodology of quantitative analysis, the authors conduct a principal component analysis and cluster analysis of the statistical results from the questionnaire which contains sixteen factors that freshmen believe to affect their oral English proficiency. The findings show that the key factors that affect college students'oral English fluency are two. One is that 'there is not a good language environment in which they practice English and use the language', the other is that 'they don't try hard to practice their oral English as much as they can after class'. The two factors, to a large extent, indicate the reason why they are weak in oral English. The study will not only help teachers of English pay special attention to the main problems with oral English teaching, but also provide some theoretical basis for the reform and development of college English teaching and learning.
