党的十六大报告指出 ,要“形成全民学习、终身学习的学习型社会 ,促进人的全面发展”。这是我们党对马克思主义人的全面发展理论的继承和发展 ,是我们党顺应时代发展要求、应对知识经济挑战作出的一项重大战略选择。知识经济时代的来临和社会主义社会的本质 ,要求人要实现现代化和全面发展 ,而建设学习型社会 ,是实现人的现代化和人的全面而自由发展的必由之路。

The report on the 16th annual meeting of the CPC point out that we must construct a learning society in which all the people enjoy study and study in their whole lives to promote man's full-scale development. Our party inherits the theory of man's full-scale development from Marxism and develops it. This is a great strategy choice of our party for the request of the times and the challenge of the intellectual economy. The coming of the times of the intellectual economy and the nature of the socialism society request man's modernization and full -scale development. The only way to achieve it is to build a learning society.
