In the late Qing dynasty,many Anhui people went to Tianjin along with the rise of the Huai group. They established many modern industrial and commercial enterprises, and initiated many schools of the Western style. They propelled the transition of Tianjin from traditional society to modern society in Tianjin area, and made great contributions to the modernization construction of Tianjin.
