The paper mainly discusses current source pulse converter with multiple connection which receives quasi-sine wave current with cosφ≈ from the AC line and sends out a controlled direct current. The multiple connection converter can greatly decrease energy storage capacitor on the line side. It can either drive the DC motor directly or supply the AC motor via current source inverter.
