In scientific paper writing, especially in the writing of long review articles, monographs or dissertations, reference citing and sequencing is an important, rigorous and hard work. However, some special tools can make it an easy job. In this article, some simple examples are shown to introduce the basic functions of 'EndNote', a tool software popularly used for reference management and citation in scientific and technological paper writing. 'EndNote' has many powerful functions, including reference searching, managing, citing, and automatically forming a sequencing reference list at the end of an article with required formats. All these make 'EndNote' helpful in paper (including dissertation) writing.
