This paper discusses the fundamental function of up-down counter and basic principle of digital phase comparator,points out the causes of error that the digital phase comparator makes,illustrates the principle auto-correcting inherent error of the digital phase comparator through up-down counter. It is somewhat valuable to eliminate and correct the extra error because of the same signal through different channel.
