Several viewpoints about network architecture are criticized based on the definition adopted by MIT CSAIL Advanced Network Architecture Group. With the phylogeny of Internet,the relationship between network architecture, requirement and technology is analyzed, further more, the characteristic and importance of network architecture are explained. The way of designing network architecture is summarized in conclusion.
