Desirable Chocolate:The Image of Nanyang Presented by Xu Zhimo and Zhang Ziping

解读徐志摩与张资平在他们各自的小说中所建构的"南洋"。徐与张同为活跃于20年代中国现代文坛的作家,文风各异,然而笔下的"南洋"却多有雷同。本文指出,对于他们而言,异域南洋是一个快乐原则战胜现实原则之处,然而同时也是万事皆滞无意识的地方。

This article investigates the image of Nanyang presented in the works of Xu Zhimo and Zhang Ziping.Xu and Zhang were both well known modern Chinese writers,who were active in the 1920s.Both of them perform different artistic styles in their works.However,the image of Nanyang constructed by them is similar.This article points out that to these writers,the exotic Nanyang is a place where the principle of pleasure prevails over the principle of reality;however,it is also a place where everything remains unconscious.
