This paper uses supermarket idea for reference to analyse the rules of choosing the location and layout of public library, it puts emphasis on reflecting the thoughts of humanism; meanwhile the paper analyses the design principle of public library. This principle makes public library realize the aim of serving local economy and people,s cultural life, and achieves the most of the social benefit and a certain economic benefit.
