西王母是一位复合型的神话人物,一方面她是西方七宿白虎星象的化身,是凶神、恶神、刑神,另一方面她又是一位吉神、善神与福神,能赐与人们的长寿、百福,乃至后嗣兴旺,鸿运长存。是一位慈善普渡众生的女神。随着时间的推移,她的凶神的影响有所缩小,人兽合一的形象有所转变,而最终成为道教中的女仙领袖。

West Empress is a comprehensive-typed figure in history. On the one hand, she is the seventh constellation of the white tiger aspect astrology in the west. She is the goddess of fierce, of evil and of torture. On the other hand, she is a goddess of luck, of kindness and of fortunes. She can give people longevity, abundant happiness, groups of descendents and continuing good fortune. She is the goddess of kindness and consideration to all the people. With the development of time, the image of her evilness is reduced. The combined image of man and beasts is changing, and finally, she becomes the leader of the goddesses in Daoism.
