On Theories about Nationalities with Chinese Characteristics and Social Development

中国特色民族理论,尤其是毛泽东关于少数民族地区社会改革的思想、邓小平关于"着眼于民族地区发展"和共同富裕的理论、"三个代表"重要思想关于"民族自身发展"的观点,指导了中国少数民族地区社会主义制度的建立和向中国特色社会主义建设的转型及其深化。当前,科学发展观的提出,必将进一步丰富中国特色民族理论,为全面建设少数民族地区小康社会提供有力的思想理论保证。

Theories about nationalities with Chinese characteristics, especially Mao Zedong′s ideas about social reforms in ethnic areas, Deng Xiaoping′s theories about 'aiming at development of ethnic areas' and common prosperity and the view of 'national development' in the thought of 'Three Represents', are the guidelines of the establishment of socialist system in ethnic areas and of the transformation toward building socialism with Chinese characteristics. At present, the idea of scientific development will surely enrich the theories about nationalities with Chinese characteristics, and guarantee the construction of a well-off society in an all-round way in ethnic areas.
