多分辨率网格模型的存储优化

摘要 近年来复杂三角形网格模型的存储及快速绘制成为一个研究热点 ,目前文献报道的多分辨率网格表示都占用较大的存储空间。文中给出了一种全新的多分辨率网格模型表示方法 ,将多分辨率模型表示的存储模式优化成一个单分辨率模型表示的存储模式 ,将多分辨率模型的存储量降到最低程度 ;所给出的存储模式支持各层次细节模型的简化、细化及交互式绘制 ,改进了以前文献给出的绘制方式。该方法简单实用 。 The current available multiresolution representations consume too much storage space. We now propose a multiresolution representation that can reduce storage space needed to the theoretically possible minimum. Our approach works for arbitrary triangular mesh. To represent the resolution of simplified mesh and the collapse relationship among the vertices of each triangle, we arrange the elements in the original triangle list twice, without using a list of pointers as was done by authors of other papers. The optimized storage scheme of our multiresolution representation supports the progressive simplification and refinement of mesh; it also supports interactive rendering for any level of detail. Limited experimental results confirm preliminarily the feasibility of our approach.
