The Syntactic Functions of“更(more)VP”

"更VP"在入句能力上呈不平衡状,作谓语的机会最多,几乎不能作主语。理论上"更VP"作补语的机会仅次于作谓语的,但收集到的"更VP"作补语的语料却不到0.1%。理论上的成活与语言的应用有一定距离,语言应用是一种复杂劳动。与"更+形"的入句情形相比较,"更VP"作谓语的能力比较强,作其他成分的能力则弱于"更+形"的。

?more) VP” is unbalance in its produced sentences. It has the strongest energy as Predicate, while the phrases usually could not sit in Subject. The opportunity as Complement, in theory, is only after that as Predicate, but we have collected a few examples of “更(more)VP” as Complement. The theoretic existence doesn’t match the linguistic application which is a kind of complex working. Comparing with “更(more)+Adj.” in the produced sentences, “更(more) VP” has more power as Predicate, and less one as the others.
