The Implementation of a Pseudo Terminal in an Interconnection Environment

互联环境中,用户终端和主处理机闻不存在着直接的物理连接,这给在主处理机上移植UNIX带来了困难。伪终端概念的引入,从而在保持UNIX文件系统结构、用户访问接口的语法和语义基础上,较好地解决了互联系统_中终端与系统间的数据交换。

In an interconnection environment, there are no direct physical interconnections between mainframe and user-terninals. So it is difficult to develop UNIX on mainframe. In order to implement the data interchange between mainframe and user-terminals and keep the UNIX file system organization and user interface unchanged, we introduce the concept——pseudo terminal.
