Innovations and Traditions: Developmental Strategies of Stanford University

美国斯坦福大学在世界一流大学中属于较年轻的大学 ,它之所以能够较快地进入一流大学的行列 ,一个重要的原因是它能在变与不变之间取得动态的平衡 ,对于在哪些方面应该与时俱进引领变化 ,在哪些方面应该坚持传统保持不变作出正确判断。本文力图描绘出斯坦福大学在创新与传统之间的发展道路 。

This is an institutional study of Stanford University. Stanford University is relatively young among world-class universities. It has developed very fast, as it has made a good balance between innovations and traditions in its developmental strategies and has a good understanding in where, when and how to change, or to persist in traditions. This study tries to inspire the best universities in China to consider and reconsider their developmental strategies learning from Stanford University experiences.
