摘要
The gate tower was an important ritual structure from Zhou to Qing dynasty.It can be traced back to the Zhou dynasty.Its original function was watchtower As the historical Period changed,the shape of the gate towe experienced different developing stages,evolved from original singte watch tower to various shapes.The gate towe disappeared with the termination of the feudal society.
