摘要
本文论证话题标记"的话"是"说 NP/VP 的话"短语话题化的产物。"的话"是个跨层次非短语结构,它的词汇化是在话语层面的两种句法位置上完成的:(a)在"说 NP/VP 的话"动宾短语中,当修饰语 NP/VP 是中心语"话"的内容,二者具有同一性时,原短语结构的语义重心前移,"说 NP/VP 的话"近似于"说 NP/VP";(b)"NP/VP 的话"短语摆脱"说……话"框架中动词"说"的制约,前移至句首做话题主语,"的话"被重新分析为后附的助词。本文指出"话"的泛化指代性以及由此形成的"话"与修饰语的同一性是"的话"词汇化的诱因,而省略和移位是"的话"词汇化的特殊机制。
This paper argues that'de hua',a topic marker,is the result of the topicalization of the phrase'shuo NP/VP de hua'.The lexicalization of'de hua'(speech of)has been completed in two syntactic positions,and the process is as follows:a)when'hua(speech)'and its modifier'NP/VP'have the same reference,the semantic focus of the phrase moves forward,thus'shuoNP/VP de hua'(say speech of)is approximately tantamount to'shuo NP/VP';b)'de hua'has been reanalysed as an enclitic item when the phrase'NP/VP de hua'is not constrained bythe verb'shuo(say)'and moves to the front as a topic.The motivations of this lexicalization arethe reference generalized of'hua'and the co-referential interpretation of'hua'and its modifier,while ellipsis and movement are the special mechanisms of the lexicalization of'de hua'.
