摘要
会话发起协议(SIP)是IP网络应用层的控制协议,用于建立、修改和终止两个或多个参与者之间的会话。SIP的设计方法和结构特点使得它成为下一代网络软交换体系的重要技术。3GPP也决定在基于IP的核心网络中采用SIP协议栈实现多媒体会话控制信令。文章介绍了SIP的基本概念并着重阐述和分析了SIP的本质特性及SIP的适用场景,在此基础上,分析了SIP在下一代网络多媒体业务集成中的核心地位和要解决的关键问题并提出了一个SIP和相关技术结合的开放业务集成框架。
The Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is an application-layer control protocol for creating, modifying and terminating sessions among two or more parties. With its special design and architecture, SIP becomes one of the most important technologies for Softswitch systems. Besides, 3GPP decides to adopt the SIP stack to realize multimedia session control signaling in IP-based networks. This paper introduces the concept, characteristics and implementation of SIP, followed by the analysis on its importance in multimedia service integration of next generation networks. It also points out some key problems in SIP applications, and proposes an open service integration architecture that combines SIP and its related technologies.
