On the Expression of Death in the Poems Written by Zhu Xiang

朱湘有许多诗歌是表现死亡的。他诗歌中的死亡可以分为他人之死、英雄之死、朋友之死、诗人之死四大类。对于死亡的表现也大体经历了一种由外到内、由空泛到具体、由虚到实的过程,其态度既有常人的一面,又有非常人的一面。朱湘最后的自杀是其非常人一面的具体表现,其诗性的方式可称得上对于诗歌的一种"殉道"。

Zhu Xiang had written many poems to express death. In his writing, death can be divided into four types, namely, they are the death of other people, the death of heroes, the death of friends and the death of poets. The expression of death in his poems had undergone a complex process, from external to internal, from abstract to concrete and from empty to full. His attitude towards death is both of ordinary persons and ex-ordinary persons. Zhu Xiang's self-suicide is one aspect to show that he was an ex-ordinary person.
