户籍制度像一道不可逾越的鸿沟,将中国分为泾渭分明的两大块,即城市社会和农村社会,进而给公民平等权的实现带来巨大障碍,阻碍了中国现代化进程。应当看到,在当前社会主义市场经济和依法治国的环境中,传统户籍制度作为计划经济时代产物的历史使命即将结束,一种适应市场经济价值和法治理念的新型户籍制度应当建立。

The census register system is like an impossible chasm which divides China into two entirely different parts, urban society and rural society. By analysis of many negative effects that is led by the census register system to China's modernizing development, the purpose is that the census register system is a hinder of the system of the equality process. If we have modernizing process in China, reforming census system has to be done.
