Centering on how to put the Chinese term an ju gong cheng into proper English, the author of the paper deals with the following things individually: implication of an ju gong cheng; enumeration of existing English versions of an ju gong cheng; people's comments on some of the English versions of an ju gong cheng as well as the author's reflections on the mentioned versions and comments.
