A Comparison on Qian Mu and Yu Yingshi's Views of Chinese and Western Cult ures

钱穆、余英时师生二人都是史学界的翘楚 ,他们都以治中国思想文化史而驰名学界。本文以中西文化观为视角 ,通过对师生二人中西文化观的比较来探求他们之间学术传承的轨迹 ,再现师生二人薪火相传各领风骚的学术佳话。文章主要从三个方面加以论述 ,即他们对文化内涵的界定 ,对中西文化异同的见解 ,对中西文化的载体———知识分子的诠释。

Both Qian Mu and Yu Yingshi are great scholars in histor y circle. YuYingshi is not only Qian Mu's brilliant disciple but also his academic successo r.They are both famous for studying the history of thought and culture. From the views of Chinese and western culture, the article expounds them the overall vi ew of the culture, views of the similarities and difference of the culture and the annotation of intellectual as the carrier of the culture, all of which embo dy th e academic succession between Qian Mu and Yu Yingshi.
