知识分子的独立人格主要表现为淡化政治“情结” ,追求独立意志、思想自由、以及不依傍其他阶层而生活等 ,而这种独立性的发展受到社会政治的、经济的和自身文化知识等条件的制约。当前 ,知识分子独立人格的磨砺 ,就是要关注社会改革的现实 ,坚持批判性的职责 。

The intellectuals' personality of independence is manifested as nonchalant political complex, pursuit of independent will, liberal thinking, living independently of people of other strata. The evolvement of this independence character is often restricted by the social, political, economic and cultural conditions. Currently, the discipline of the intellectuals' personality of independence involves a sincere concern over the realities of social reforms, responsibility for persistent criticism and adaptability with the management system of market economy.
