Underloaded translation is one of the major problems affecting the quality of allusion transla-tion. How do we make up for the loss in underloaded translation? Pointing out that underloaded translationwill cause the loss of national flavour, image and associative meaning, the author of the paper attempts todiscuss ways of how to reduce or avoid the loss, with a view to retaining the unique charm and transferringfaithfully the information of the original allusion.
