摘要
《白鲸》展示给我们的是捕鲸业和亚哈船长为追杀白鲸莫比·狄克而导致“佩阔德号”及其船员走向毁灭的过程 ,其中蕴含了作者对社会的看法和对人生的体验与思考。本文立足作品本身 ,从不同层面和角度分析了作品所揭示的四种悲剧实质 ,即亚哈个人 ,自然界的人 ,民主自由 。
Moby Dick showed the whaling and the tragic course of the whaler, Pequod, and its crew resulting from Captain Ahab's crazy chase of Moby Dick, the White Whale. It embodied Melveil's attitude towards the world and his experience of, and thought about, life. This article, based on the novel,analyses, from different levels and aspects, four kinds of tragic essence expressed in the novel, that is, the tragedy of Ahab, man in nature, democracy and freedom, as well as primitive values and friendship.
