摘要
本文围绕“古诗词译余杂谈”这个话题,先讨论古诗词英译是对原诗的阐释,阐释时应遵守的三个原则:传达中心信息,中心信息适量增值,中心信息合理减值。再通过实例讨论翻译时采用的技巧,包括字数、行数的确定,对原诗音韵形式的改变,内容的调整,软信息的推敲与传达等,在前人研究的基础上作进一步的探求。本文的结论是古诗词翻译是阐释和某种意义上的再创造。
Centering on the subtitle 'Miscellanies on Translation of Ancient Chinese Poetry', the paper first discusses that translation of ancient Chinese poetry is an interpretation. Conveying central information, proper addition of central information, and reasonable deduction of central information are three rules abided by the translator in his interpretation. Then exemplified are techniques in translation including the number of words and lines, the change of rhyme and rhythm, the adjustment of ideas, the weighing and conveying soft information implied in original poems. Based on others previous study, the author tries to explore the topic further. The conclusion of this paper is that translation of ancient Chinese poetry is interpretation and, in a sense, re_creation as well.
