A Phonological Approach to Sound_oriented Transliteration

本文从音位学角度探讨专有名词的音译，通过英汉语音系统的对比分析，找出了与英语音素相近的汉语对应音。为使汉语译案听起来更贴近英语原名，文章还在音节层次上进行分析，提出了音译过程中应当遵循的几条规则。

This article is an attempt to explore sound_oriented transliteration of proper names from a phonological point of view. First, the article classifies transliteration into sound_oriented transliteration, shape_oriented transliteration and sound_and_shape_oriented transliteration. Then, through a contrastive analysis of Chinese and English sound systems, Chinese equivalents are found for English sounds. To ensure that the Chinese version sounds more like the English original names, an analysis is made on syllabic level and polysyllabic level as well. The article points out that a number of rules should be observed in the process of transliteration.
