The Formation of Chinese and English Idioms and Their Cultural Connotations

汉英成语是中英两国人民智慧的结晶 ,是语言中的精华 ,因而具有独特的语言风格和丰富的文化内涵。本文试从汉英成语的语言现象出发 ,从对比语言学角度 ,对汉英成语的文化内涵进行分析对比 ,以加深对汉英成语的理解 ,提高对汉英成语的运用 。

Chinese and English idioms, the quintessence in the two languages, are linguistically special and rich in cultural connotation. This paper, through linguistic comparison, analyzed and compared the cultural connotations conveyed in the idioms in both languages in order to deepen the understanding of the idioms and promote foreign language teaching and cross-culture communication.
