Why the Twentieth Century Witnesses No Classical Works of Anti-Japanese War Literature

中国抗战文学为什么没有经典作品，主要有三个原因。（一）“五四”战争文学没有建立起现代战争文学传统，使抗战文学在较低的战争文学基础上开始创作；（二）抗战结束后，没有及时地把战时文艺理论转变为战后文艺理论，具体地说，没有处理好歌颂和暴露、为工农兵服务和提高读者审美能力之间的辩证关系；（三）地方作家非军人化和军队作家非学者化，直接制约了抗战文学创作水平的提高。

The main reasons why there is no classical works of Anti-Japanese War are as follows. Firstly, war literature during the May 4th periodhad not established a tradition of contemporary war literature,so theAnti-Japanese War literature started from a low point.Secondly,wartime literature and art theory failed to be developed into postwarliterature and art theory in time. To be specific,the dialectical relationship between praise and exposure,and between improving theaesthetic judgement of the readers and serving the workers,peasants andsoldiers was not properly handled.Thirdly,the level of literaturecreation was hampered by the lack of military experience on the part ofcivilian writers and the lack of proper education on the part ofwriters within the armed forces.
