COMMUNITY GEOGRAPHY IN THE 21ST CENTURY

本文简述了社区地理学的形成、研究现状和面临的形势 ,对 2 1世纪的社区地理学进行了展望。指出 2 1世纪的社区地理学有 12个热点课题 ,即 :(1)社区发展合作组织 ;(2 )社区发展 ;(3)社区环境 ;(4)社区规划 ;(5 )社区管理 ;(6 )农村社区城市化 ;(7)城市社区病态 ;(8)社区贫困 ;(9)社区经济 ;(10 )社区文化 ;(11)精神社区 ;(12 )虚拟社区。从目前世界范围内的社区发展运动看 ,从2 1世纪社区地理学研究的领域看 ,2 1世纪将是社区地理学的大发展时代。

The study of sociology and geography on community is of long standing, nevertheless, community geography which was a branch of human geography formed at a late tim. It was put forward by the scholar of our country at the beginning of 80s and at the end of 90s in the 20th century. Undergo development for ten years, community geography not only forms itself more integrated subject frame and theoretical system, but it is accepted by more human geographical scholars. Many academic journals have published many articles on community geography at home and abroad. It makes clear that community geography plaies an important part in study community. The 21st century will be a century that depends mainly on knowledge economy. Various fields of world will be influenced by the development of knowledge economy, it will bring about that the whole world will take on an earth shaking change. In the century of great change, community geography is adapted to the development of the 21st century, community geographical research present state and facing situation must be analysed. Community geography in the 21st century can be understand only if it is achieved. The article briefly sets forth the forming of community geography, relates research present state and facing situation of it. The paper points out that there will be 12 hot spots for the study of community geography in the 21st century. They are: (1)community development cooperative organization; (2)community development; (3) community environment; (4) community programme; (5) community management; (6)the citification of country; (7)social ill state of community; (8)community poverty; (9)the community economy; (10)community culture; (11)spiritual community; (12)the subjunctive community. At present, from the features of community development in the world we see that one hundred countries and more are carrying out the scheme and the plan of community development. Thus it can be seen a mighty movement of community development will be unfold in the world. The situation will create a good environment for the development of community geography in the 21st century. For this reason, it can be predicted the 21st century must be a time of rapid development of community geography.
