“二十四友”是西晋历史上颇为特殊的士大夫结社现象。它是西晋中央权力衰落、门阀势力膨胀的政治环境与士人交游集会、好名相尚文化环境的产物 ;是士人屈服权贵、争相攀附称誉权贵这一普遍现象的一个典型 ;是显现西晋一代社会风尚与士人精神风貌的一个缩影。

The 24 Friends was the special association of the literati in office in the Western Jin Dyasty.It was the result from the decline of the central power and the inflation of the family power;it stood for the literati in office who formed on association and chasted a fame,yielded and adhered to influential officials;and it was an epitome to representate the social manner and the literati's spiritual appearance in the Western Jin Dynasty.
