不同的民族有着不同的历史经历和文化传统,翻译既是不同文化之间的交流与汇合,也是不同文化之间的碰撞。本文从语义冲突、语义空缺、语义联想、民族心理、审美角度、文化背景六个方面阐述了历史和文化差异给翻译带来的尴尬和困难,并通过举例提出了应对这些困难的方法。

Different nationalities have their own history and culture different from the others. Translation is not only a join but also a conflict between two different cultures. This essay explains the embarrassment in translation caused by historical and cultural difference between Chinese and French language and the possible solutions to those difficulties from 6 points of view, i.e conflict of word meaning, zero of equivalent word, semantic association, national psychology, aesthetic standards, culture background.
