DVD+R and DVD-R have different optics specified. The most significant difference is the specification for NumericaI Aperture (NA) , and there are other differences, such as for Rim Intensity. Dr. Wlodek Mischke of DaTARIUS has undertaken studies both of the theoretical results that Should be expected on measuring devices due to the specification differences, and whether experimental results match theory.
