Restoring China In GATT and Reforming Exchange Rate System of Renminbi

目前的人民币汇率制度与关贸总协定的要求有较大差距,这不但成为我国重返关贸总协定的一大障碍,而且对改革开放和国民经济发展产生了有害的影响。大力推进人民币汇率制度改革,缩小人民币汇率制度与关贸总协定的差距势在必行。本文对人民币汇率制度改革的目标模式和主要步骤进行了分析。

There is great discrepancy between the exchange rate system of Renminbi and the re- quirement of GATT. It is not only a great obstacle to China's return in GATT but also produces harmful effect to reform and opening and the development of national economy. It seems imperative to push forward thereform of exchange rate system of Renminbi in order to narrow the gap between the exchange rate system of Renminbi and the requirement of GATT. This paper analyses the target model of reforming the exchange rate system of Ren- minbi and its processes.
