Famous newspapers and periodicals in the USA and the UK have a wide circulation and influence in the world.Many articles in the newspapers and periodicals have strong political flavor.The paper analyzed with sample sentences taken from such newspapers and periodicals cultural as well as political element in the Chinese context,and concluded that in teaching reading comprehension of such articles students should be oriented towards developing a sharp cultural and political discrimination ability which is crucial in maintaining proper political stand.
