On the Reform of College-English Teaching and the New Role of the Teachers

大学英语教学的深刻变革给传统的教学模式及传统教学中的教师角色带来了巨大的冲击和挑战。此次改革将多媒体教学模式引入大学英语教学,推行以学生为中心的自主式、个性化的教学方法。教学模式与教学方法的转变促使传统教学过程中的教师角色发生了转变,教师由传统教学中知识的灌输者转变成了学生学习过程中的帮助者、促进者。教师只有尽快地在此次教学改革中实现角色转变,才能确保此次教学改革的成功,取得良好的教学效果。

The dramatic reform of college-English teaching has brought great impacts and challenges to the traditional teaching model and the teacher's role. This reform introduces a multi-medium teaching model to college-English teaching and encourages the student-centered and the personality-oriented approach with much freedom. This reform has resulted in the new role of the teachers, that is, from the instructor to the helper and promoter in the student's learning. Thus, a successful change of the teacher's role will ensure the success of this teaching reform and desirable teaching results.
