In this article, some basic characteristics in modern paper industry are detailed, and the development status of China paper industry is analyzed. In the author's view, the rapid increase of domestic paper consumption will strongly drive China paper industry to a rapid and continual development. The author also gives opinions on some significant issues, such as bankroll, technology, equipment, fiber material, and how to become a powerful papermaking nation.
