The paper introduces the Concept Blending Theory prevailing in the American linguistic society in recent years. On the basis of attempting to analyze its origin, advantages and weaknesses, the paper comments on the prospect of its future development and compares it with the related linguistic study in Russia. Finally the paper points out the function and status of the theory in cognitive linguistic study.
