Coming into real vocational lives——Applying ESP teaching mode in English classes of higher vocational colleges

高职英语教育应当突出其职业性的特点,引入EOP(EnglishforOccupationalPurpose)模式,通过改革教材、课堂教学、考核方式,建立英语教师与专业教师合作教学的团队,借鉴国内外职业培训机构的英语教学经验,使高职英语教育走向真实的职业生活。

English teaching in higher vocational colleges is different from that of general colleges. The problems of higher vocational English teaching are analyzed and it is strengthened that English teaching in higher vocational colleges should focus on its vocational characteristics. At the same time it advocates that EOP mode is quite suitable for higher vocational English teaching and raises several suggestions according to EOP mode for higher vocational English education.
