新闻标题是新闻报道的灵魂,以高度精练的文字告诉读者新闻要点。然而,英语学习者有时阅读英语新闻标题有困难,从词汇方面分析了英语新闻标题的特点,以期对阅读英文报刊的读者以及从事英语新闻报道的工作者有所帮助。
News headlines are seen as abbreviated forms of news reports to introduce and highlight news. Through them the reader can obtain the essence of news in the shortest time possible. However, English learners sometimes have difficulty understanding English news headlines. This paper analyzes lexical characteristics of English news headlines to be helpful to the English news readers as well as writers and editors.
