望文生义浅析

On Interpreting Literal Meaning Superficially

受英语著名语言学家Leech提出的将词语意义划分为七种类型的启发 ,本文指出在语言理解中 ,不仅仅只注重语言显性的外在形式 :语形 ;还必须注重语言的隐性内在形式 :潜义 ,即挖掘潜在语言外表形式之下的种种意义。全文从四个方面阐述了如何挖掘语言表面意思之下的其他意义 ,以及简释了在理解中切不可望文生义。

Inspired by Leech's seven types of meaning, the present author argues that translators need to give due attention to both the This paper deals with the fact that a language interpreter/researcher should not only lay stress on the literal meaning of a language(i.e.,the explicit meaning),but also focus his/her attention on the inner meaning of the language(i.e.,the implicit meaning) due to inspiration from the seven kinds of sense in the book “Semantics” by Leech,G.;and also represents four ways of searching out implicative meaning rather than literal meaning from source language,i.e.,not to interpret language literal meaning superficially.
