Giant Panda Classified as CarnivoreAt the 42nd Seminar of Eastern Sci-Tech Forum held in Shanghai, a systems biologist stated that the giant panda is classified as a carnlvore, but is actually a herbivore, feedingmainly on bamboo. Its digestive system, however, does not cope well with bamboo and much of what it ingests is undigested. This may cause malnutrition, affecting its capabilities of reproduction and move-ment.
